LIVERPOOL JUNE-JULY 2014

Night time

We all like to relax after a busy working day and during IFB 2014 you will have plenty of opportunity to let your hair down. An evening out might mean a stylish bar with cocktails, a warming and hearty local pub with a pint of locally brewed ale or dancing the night away if one of Liverpool’s clubs. Liverpool is a city proud of its nightlife, and rightly so. See Visit Liverpool's guide to the city's nightlife.

If you’re looking for a quieter evening in town, why not take in a show or a movie. Film fans should head to FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), which showcases the best in mainstream and independent film whilst the Odeon in Liverpool ONE shows all the big new releases.

Liverpool theatre has a fantastically strong reputation, with plenty of top theatre performance spaces, from the legendary Everyman and Playhouse theatres to The Empire, Liverpool’s largest theatre, and The Royal Court. Smaller local theatres include the Epstein Theatre, The Lantern Theatre and the intimate Unity Theatre.

Head to www.visitliverpool.com for more inspiration and to find out what’s on during your stay.

Wirral (www.visitwirral.com) and Southport (www.visitsouthport.com) are also home to a number of theatre and performance spaces, with events running throughout the year.

Comedy runs through the heart of the city and if you’re like-minded you’ll find a fantastic selection of comedy events. From big-name headline acts who come to the Echo Arena Liverpool or Philharmonic Hall, to the smaller local venues such as the Laughterhouse Comedy Club or the Comedy Club at Blue Bar at the Albert Dock - you’re sure to find something to make you laugh.
