Waterfront
Waterfront cities are unique; distinctive by their diverse populations, pioneering spirit and creative talent. Liverpool has not only made a unique contribution to world commerce and culture, it is also home to one of the world’s greatest and most recognisable waterfronts. Liverpool’s waterfront is place that has special significance to Liverpudlians – a place that has shaped the city, its people and its sense of identity.
Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, Liverpool’s waterfront is home to the UK’s finest collection of museums, mercantile architecture and international contemporary art galleries.
Included is the world-famous Albert Dock, the UK’s largest group of Grade I Listed buildings and one of the city’s favourite places to eat, drink and stay. From culture and comedy to Beatles, boats, galleries and gigs, it's one of the city’s most vibrant areas.
A little further along the waterfront is the stunning Pier Head and the Three Graces, which for nearly a century have defined one of the world’s most recognised skylines. These majestic buildings were conceived and constructed as visible symbols of Liverpool’s international prestige, proud emblems of its commercial prowess.
In June and July 2014, this glorious setting plays host to the IFB Hub, the very heart of your International Festival for Business experience.
